Stratbase ADR Institute is pleased to share free access to its Special Study entitled, “2019 Midterm Elections in Review: An Assessment of the ‘Credibility’ of the 2019 Midterm Elections”, written by Dr. Ador R. Torneo, Director of the De La Salle University Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance, and Topin Sto. Domingo Ruiz, member of the De La Salle University Department of Political Science.

Written in December 2019, this study provides an evaluation of the performance of the Philippine midterm elections that was held earlier that year. The study focuses on how the automated system of counting and transmitting votes affected the credibility of the results.

Due to unforeseen developments in first quarter of 2020 that included the eruption of the Taal Volcano and later on the Coronavirus pandemic, publication of this study was unfortunately delayed.

As this month marks a year since the 2019 mid-term elections was conducted, the Institute thought it fitting to release a digital version of this Special Study.
