One of Stratbase ADR Institute’s recent publication is “Technology, Democracy, and Elections in the Philippines” written by Dr. Francisco Magno, President of the Philippine Political Science Association. In this regard, the Stratbase ADRi, in partnership with Democracy Watch Philippines, held a launch briefing earlier today in Makati City.

The Special Study discussed the relationship between election automation and election turnout, specifically among the youth; and overall credibility. It likewise traced the history and rationale of holding automated elections in the Philippines. It then provided a discussion on the mechanisms behind the Automated Election System, its security features, manual checks, and performance assessment which includes COMELEC’s Performance Scorecard.

Among the reactors were Chairman Andres Bautista (Chairman, Commission on Elections), Ramon Casiple (Chairman, Consortium on Electoral Reforms), and Richard Heydarian (Political Analyst).
