Yesterday, the Albert del Rosario Institute (ADRi), in partnership with Democracy Watch Philippines, conducted a forum that aimed to discuss the current state of electoral laws and tackle the conditions and issues that surrounded the conduct of the 2016 elections.
Election-related issues were thoroughly examined in this forum by noted political scientists and observers in the hopes to develop possible recommendations and reforms on how else to improve our elections.
The forum was presided by Dr. Francisco Magno, Trustee of the ADR Institute, Executive Director of the De La Salle University’s Robredo Institute of Governance and President of the Philippine Political Science Association.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr. WIlliam Yu from the PPCRV; Richard Heydarian from the De La Salle University; Ramon Casiple, Executive Director of the Institute For Political and Electoral Reform; Jean Encinas-Franco, Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman; Stratbase Managing Director, ADRi PResident, and Democracy Watch Philippines Lead Convenor Dindo Manhit; and Dr. Paul Hutchcroft, Lead Governance Specialist with the Australian Embassy in Manila.
