Last Saturday, Democracy Watch (DemWatch) participated in Rotary International’s 2015 New Generation Conference (NGC). This year’s theme is, “Youth for Nation Building: Educate, Enable, Engage!”. It was held at the auditorium of the Taguig City University.
DemWatch’s lead convenor Prof. Dindo Manhit stressed that increased popular participation makes it more difficult for political elites to manipulate democratic institutions.
Further, DemWatch believes that educating people in democracy contribute to democratic deepening and a more attentive public.
